Rubin Singer, one of the world’s hottest fashion designers, will present his "Serpent Queen" collection during a charity afternoon tea and fashion show at Bangkok's Four Seasons Hotel on May 7.

Based in New York, Rubin is one of Hollywood’s favourite couturiers, whose dresses are worn by many of the best-known and best-dressed celebrities, including Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Glenn Close, Kate Beckinsale and Lea Michelle.

Aptly called “The Serpent Queen”, the spring 2014 collection, which in Singer’s words is “seductively dangerous”, was inspired by Hatshepsut, Nefertiti and Cleopatra as well as the Egyptian cobra goddess Uatchit.

The stunning creations will grace the stage from 3.30pm. Singer will be available for consultations on the same day, for those who wish to own a piece of his couture.

The afternoon tea, which will run from 2-6pm, will feature new creations prepared by pastry
chef Stephane Calvet, coupled with a glass of Louis Roederer Champagne and a selection of Teamaker’s Private Reserve teas from the Dilmah Family.

Tickets cost 1,500 baht per person. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the CCF Foundation in Thailand under the Royal Patronage of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The foundation promotes child development programmes for disadvantaged children as well as child protection and child rights.
