“Singing and Dancing: From Paris to Bangkok” will take place in the auditorium of Alliance Francaise, Witthayu Road, on May 8 at 7.30pm.

In the first part of the programme, internationally renowned tenor Baron will sing his own compositions accompanied by a guitar player and a percussionist. Then, French-Madagascan choreographer Rakotovao will take the stage and perform her latest solo piece, Initiation. The dance is about seeking success in a universe filled with solitude and obstacles.

Baron gave his first concerts in Parisian nightclubs and has since performed around the world. He is on the teaching staff of the famous Superstar Academy in Bangkok and is recording an album.

A winner of the French dance competition Concours International de Biarritz, the New York-based Rakotovao launched her own dance company in 2011, with which she has performed internationally. She has also taught dance in several countries, including France.

Prior to the show, Rakotovao will conduct two Zumba dance workshops on May 6 and May 8, from 10am to 11.30am in the dance studio of Alliance Francaise.

Seats are limited.

Tickets for the singing and dance performance cost 450 baht (300 baht for students and members). The fee for the workshop is 950 baht per session. Email sasiya.sutasuwan@afthailande.org or call 02-670-4222.
