Attapol “Ou’’ Prasurtying, lead singer of the popular 1980s boy band McIntosh, died of a cerebral haemorrhage Friday. He was 56.

The singer and keyboardist was admitted to Samitivej Hospital on Thursday night and died there at 1.15pm on Friday, Wongsakorn ''Ton'' Rasmidathe, drummer for the band, posted on his Facebook page.

Attapol also suffered from high blood pressure, Mr Wongsakorn said.

The bathing rites for the singer will be held at 5pm and funeral services at 6.30pm on Saturday at Wat That Thong in Bangkok.

McIntoch was formed in 1977 when members were still students. The pop group hit the height of its popularity with the album Jai Sayiew (Heart-Thrilling) in 1982.
