Lange & Sohne's 2012 editions embody craftsmanship, innovation and beauty

The launch of the Lange 1 in October 1994 brought about a wristwatch with an off-centre hour display, subsidiary seconds and power reserve display along with a large date display that was then unique to the watch industry and even described as an exotic model from Saxony.
The Grand Lange 1 with its twin apertures and outsize numerals inspired by the Semper Opera’s Five- Minute Clock.
The fourth generation of the German watchmaker, Walter Lange revived his family business after it remained closed behind the iron curtain for some four decades, and the comeback needed to be something different from the usual Swiss luxury watches, and so the striking outsize date.
