Sheepish Tong owns up to mischief

SOCIAL & LIFESTYLE

The boyfriend of a "pretty" product presenter in trouble with the law for forcing his secret lover to leave their condo naked after she discovered them together has finally owned up to being unfaithful.

Tanuthun "Tong" Thalann, 33, a businessman, admits he was making love on the couch to a woman he had just met when his girlfriend, Wiralak "Manao" Sutthiprapa, 24, a former Miss Maxim model, walked in on them.

Manao ordered the girl, Saranya "Pom Pam" Saehan, 24, a student, out of their condo while she was still naked, and filmed the encounter on her smartphone.

A clip of her evicting the girl, who begged for mercy but found little from either angry Manao or her embarrassed boyfriend, found itself onto the internet.

As a result, Manao is now facing police charges of coercion and harming the girl's reputation.

In initial comments on the saga, Tong said a friend had brought along Pam, but left before Manao came home. He denied having sex with her, and said what followed was a "misunderstanding". The incident occurred early on July 28 at Tong's condo in the Huai Khwang area.

Going before the cameras for the first time last week, Tong changed his tune, admitting he had been unfaithful to Manao but insisting it was a one-night stand.

He said a male friend had recommended Pam, who he described as a sideline girl (someone who sells her body online).

"Earlier, I said a friend brought her over, and when I woke I found her next to me. In fact, I was protecting myself too much, and harmed the love of many people who love me," he said, explaining why he had lied.

"A friend recommended the girl to me, and an hour after I sent a Line message, she turned up."

When Manao turned up unexpectedly, Pam fled into the couple's bedroom in panic. In the clip, Manao orders her boyfriend to call her out. When she appears Pam is clutching a duvet around her body. Manao orders her to drop it, when viewers find she is naked.

She orders her to leave. The clip shows Tong tossing Pam her clothes as she cowers in front of the lift. Other than that, he offers little help.

Explaining his less than chivalrous behaviour, Tong admitted he wanted Pam to leave the condo as quickly as possible after Manao walked in and discovered them. Manao slapped his face and the couple argued before finally throwing Pam out.

"I didn't go out to hand her the clothes as I couldn't afford to take my eyes off her. If I had, I don't know what Manao would have done to her. In any case it was after 3am and there was no one about," he said.

"I didn't take the phone off Manao, as I felt guilty. Manao hit me many times. I wasn't game to intervene."

In the aftermath of the clip publicity, in which Thais rounded on the couple for treating Pam poorly, Tong said he had not been brave enough to show his face at work. However, he had since made up with Manao, and the two are back together.

"My mother was furious and initially wanted me to order Manao out, but we explained things to her so she now understands. Manao's family were very good … they were not angry with me, but with her," he said.

Pam, who has spoken out since laying police charges against Manao, admits she knew Tong just one day, but denies she is a sideline girl.

"He invited me to the room, and I went without knowing he had a girlfriend," she said. "When I saw Manao filming me, I tried to hide my face and apologised, but she forced me out. I called out for my clothes, piece by piece.

"I was in the wrong, but never thought she could be so cruel. It's like I was the receptacle for her anger."

When the clip emerged, Pam said she had contemplated taking her life. Her mother urged her to salvage her dignity by laying a police complaint, but she would also like an apology from the pair.

Manao last week appeared before the Phra Nakhon district court where she denied all charges. The case is continuing.

Ready for kids, not for marriage

Napapa 'Pat' Thantrakul and her bicycle racing lover, 'Benz'.

Actress Napapa "Pat" Thantrakul says she is ready to have children, but might skip marriage to her bicycle racing lover, "Benz".

Pat, 30, who has known Benz for eight years, says they recently exchanged friendship rings, and wear "prince" and "princess" T-shirts to show they are a couple.

They have also spoken to her mother about Pat's plans to have children early next year.

"He has asked me to marry, but I am less keen. My father died recently, so I do not have many members of my family left to invite," she said.

"It's not a case of not honouring his family, as marriage is just to let people know we are together.

"The important thing is whether a family can survive. I am working hard and he is worried about me, but racing motorcycles doesn't look like a long-term option for supporting a family."

Pat said she is relaxed about calling Benz her hubby, and can't say if he would make a good dad until it happens.

"Many couples with kids fail to stay together," she said.

"If we can make it work, great, if not, never mind.

"My parents have held two grandchildren in our family so far.

"I wanted dad to hold one of mine, but it wasn't to be. I have told mum to wait for me, and she just smiled."

Little-known Pat shot to prominence in January last year when a messy break-up with her former lover, poor, self-confessed street racer Thanapol "Jack" Tayahan, ended in a soi-style fight between her family and his new girlfriend's supporters.

Since then she has been linked to a series of admirers, including actor and singer Pakin "Tono" Kumvilaisak, who shares her love of motorcycles, and football star Atit "Back" Daosawang. Most recently she has settled on Benz, who accompanies her on some outings but is shy of the media.

Socialite, police in love triangle

A wealthy socialite who accused a high-profile policewoman of stealing her boyfriend has escaped jail after admitting charges of defamation.

Pol Lt Col Anchalee "Mor Air" Teerawongpaisal in March last year laid police complaints against socialite Wichuda "Tum" Leenuthapong after Tum accused her of breaking up her relationship with her policeman lover.

The saga captured the attention of netizens and even drew in the national police chief, who said he was confident the row would not harm the force, even though it involved two young, high-profile officers.

Mor Air laid two complaints against the socialite, and prosecutors filed a third for a breach of the Computer Crimes Act, after Tum attacked Mor Air on social media.

The saga started when Tum declared in February last year she had broken up with her policeman lover, Pol Lt Col Attapol "Aun" Ittayorpasakul, a one-time social media icon feted for his good looks, after he asked her for money allegedly to buy a police promotion, and started seeing Mor Air.

Mor Air, a spokeswoman for the Police General Hospital who works in the psychiatry and drug addiction unit, laid a police complaint the same month.

She said Tum kept up her attacks on Facebook, despite several requests to stop, so she laid a further complaint in March.

Tum initially denied the charges, but in June decided not to contest the case, and offered 100,000 baht in damages.

The Criminal Court in Ratchada has now sentenced Tum to two years in jail and fined her 100,000 baht for defaming Mor Air. It cut the sentence and fine in half given her clean record and offer of damages, but put her on two years' probation.

Outstanding matters include a civil case in which Mor Air seeks 50 million baht in damages against Tum. The case continues.
