If you're planning to see autumn leaves and make an early purchase for New Year in Japan, you might as well time it to coincide with Halloween because spooky good times at these three famous malls await you.
Pumpkin Streets-Jack O Lanterns @ Mitsui Outlet Park Jazz Dream Nagashima
This Halloween, the mall turns its South Area Conservatory Square into "The Pumpkin Streets Lamp Jack O Lantern". The spooky lanterns will glow overhead at night, providing a Halloween backdrop until Oct 31. Head there for a photogenic setting.
Take the Meitetsu Bus or Mie Kotsu Bus from Meitetsu Bus Center in Nagoya. Get off at Nagashima Onsen. The trip takes about 50 minutes.
Lazona Halloween Ghost Story @ Mitsui Shopping Park Lazona Kawaski Plaza, Kawasaki
Get haunted -- in a cute way -- at Lazona Kawasaki Plaza, which goes all out to celebrate Halloween in various ways. Collect nine stamps around Kawasaki Station for a chance to win a special prize until Oct 31. Cute Halloween-themed menus using seasonal ingredients are available until Oct 31 and, of course, they are Instagrammable. Join a trick-or-treat on Oct 27-28. From Oct 27-31, dress up as ghosts and shop or eat at participating shops to receive discounts or candies. Workshops for kids are also available on Halloween. If you're in the area on Oct 28, don't forget to catch the famous annual Halloween parade from 2.30-3.45pm.
Take the JR Keihin-Tohoku train to Kawasaki Station and use the west exit to walk there.
Shopping Spree @ Diver City Tokyo Plaza
Post-Halloween fun can be had at Diver City Tokyo Plaza, which will open after its renovation on Nov 2. The shopping mall with a life-size Gundam in front adds 48 stores and brands like Pandora, Kate Spade New York and more, serving customers the latest collections and fashion trend. The "hexaRide" technology will be added for visitors to experience the exiting world of virtual reality. F&B-wise, many new restaurants have been added while its large food court, Tokyo Gourmet Stadium, can seat 800 people.
Get off at Yurikamome Daiba station and walk there or take a Rinkai train to Tokyo Teleport Station and walk there.
