It has been a rewarding year for HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana, who was named a Silpathorn Artist in fashion and jewellery design by the Ministry of Culture's Office of Contemporary Art and Culture (OCAC) in July.

The annual award honours Thai contemporary artists in mid-career who have made notable contributions to the country's fine arts and culture. The designer-Princess also made history by being the first member of the royal family to receive the Silpathorn Award as well as being the youngest artist ever nominated.
Maison Sirivannavari's founder and creative director has extended her artistry from designing clothing and accessories to a coveted make-up collection through a collaboration with Shiseido.
At its headquarters in Ginza, Tokyo, the Japanese cosmetics giant is holding an exhibition until the end of November to honour the Princess and present the "Shiseido X Sirivannavari Princess Hanayaka Collection".

Beforehand, the special editions were unveiled in Bangkok, with Princess Sirivannavari graciously presiding over the launch at The Siam Hotel.
"Sirivannavari has always wanted to create beauty products that can fully answer the needs of women in Asia. This is also Shiseido's goal, as a premium brand that understands well the needs of Asian women. That is how the collaboration of this collection started," said the Princess, who also shares the initial "S" with the Japanese company.
The "S" and a star are embossed on midnight-blue, one of the eight shades of the Shiseido X Sirivannavari Eye Color Palette. Four colours evoke a dark night sky with twinkling stars and zodiac constellations while the other four are in golden-brown hues recalling those of rice ears. The design concept is also applied to the case, whose golden rice-ear motif stands against a background depicting the night sky.

Two variations of Shiseido X Sirivannavari Face Illuminator + Blush Palette differ in the attractive cases and shades for natural or glamorous looks.
Lips can be dressed in Shiseido Rouge Rouge Real Ruby or Amber Afternoon that along with a travel-sized brush come together for Shiseido X Sirivannavari Lip Collection.
"My intention is to create beauty products that are compact, easy and convenient to apply," Princess Sirivannavari said. "The colours in the palette must be beautiful and highly flexible for various combinations of mix and match, and for different occasions, from daytime natural look to night-time glamour. I chose the colour schemes and different shades myself, based on what colour combinations I think will best bring out women's beauty."
The multi-talented princess also designed the packaging, which incorporates motifs such as rice ears, bees and lovebirds from the maison's previous collections.
The naming of the collaboration, Princess Hanayaka conveys the image of a modern-day woman, who is vivacious and as ravishingly beautiful as a princess.
