France honours Thai industrialist

Congratulations to Phongsthorn Thavisin, who was recently awarded Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur from the French Government for services rendered to the Energy Sector with the French company Total Oil Thailand.

Phongsthorn is CEO of PTT Exploration & Production (Public) Company Limited.

Presenting the decoration to Phongsthorn was Jacques Lapouge, ambassador of France to Thailand. The award presentation ceremony took place at Résidence de France in Bangkok.

The event was graced by honorary guests including Chakkrit Chandrema, deputy chief of staff of the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Defence, Ministry of Defence; permanent secretary for justice Wisit Wisitsora-at; and Witoon Kulcharoenwirat, chairman, Board of Directors, Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT).

Also present were Rashed Al Blooshi, Thailand's country president of Mubadala Petroleum (Thailand); Pitchayaphant Charnbhumidol, director-general, Department of East Asian Affairs Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Antonio Miranda, managing director of Total Oil Thailand; and Eric Sayettat, French economic counsellor.
