The most fashionable feline is the muse for Shu Uemura’s 2014 holiday collection. The white long-haired kitty cat belongs to the famed Karl Lagerfeld, who previously collaborated with the Japanese brand in the 2012 holiday collection featuring the Mon Shu girl donning the designer’s iconic looks on the packaging.

The furry Choupette now gives her name to the 2014 editions, spelt Shupette, to signify the collaboration. Moreover, the blue-eyed glamourpuss is seen in promotional images while her cute caricature appears on the lid of the Shupette Has-It-All palette, which comes with a fur pouch, as well as on packaging of other items such as blusher, powder and cleansing oil.

Felines and ladies are alike in many ways, so they say, otherwise girls wouldn’t engage themselves in cat fights, but that is something Princess Choupette would never do to ruin the reputation of her pedigree.

While women spend time on defining their eyes, the celebrity cat naturally flaunts the perfect line without any smudging. That inspired the brand’s international artistic director, Uchiide, to create variations of the cat eyes, either Parisienne Chic or Tokyo Kawaii styles, for four holiday looks.

Getting the elegant Parisienne smoky cat eye simply requires framing the eyes with a pencil liner, followed by applying eyeshadows to enhance the line and add more depth.
A long tail and eye socket shading make for a more dramatic celebrity cat eye, also sparkling with a finishing touch of glitter.

The key thing in doing a wing is to determine the right angle, advised Uchiide, to give an eye-lifting effect.

A shorter and sharper tail is drawn with Calligraph ink eyeliner for the modern kawaii cat eye. He starts working on the tail first, and after achieving the right angle, continues along the upper line to define the eyes.
A hint of pink eyeshadow is then applied on the outer corner of the bottom eyelids for a playful Tokyo-style accent.

The fourth look involves gluing partial false lashes on the outer corners of the eyes, after defining the upper line and bottom inner corners. Besides the accent lashes, a haute couture pair is designed with pink feather and blue crystal for greater impact.
