SOCIAL & LIFESTYLE

Creating 'moments of joy' has long been a driving force for Mondelez International an established 'global snacking powerhouse' with vast resources at its disposal,  but  an organisation that also believes in 'the power of big and small'. And it adds practicality to that belief by bringing the creativity and agility of a new start-up to everything it does.

Today, Mondelez includes among its impressive line-up some of the world's most recognisable brands.  These are names that evoke a surge of nostalgia among the older generation and smiles of approval from a younger group more familiar perhaps with the great tastes of products that not only continue to find favour, but create a new generation of followers.

'Moments of joy' of course are very much part of giving in this festive season and each of the featured iconic brands have long been presented as gifts to gladden the hearts and stimulate the taste buds of happy recipients.  For those looking for a gift to do just that while also evoking a "My very own favourite," response, well please read on.  While joy is certainly in the giving there are no rules to say that receiving a highly appreciated gift cannot also be a joyful affair.  Let the smiles of appreciation begin.

The mere mention of the word Cadbury immediately sends us into the wonderful world of chocolate and for many it means the celebrated milk chocolate that was first launched way back in 1905 and which quickly became the leader in a market that was acquiring new tastes in confectionery.  Its famous 'glass and a half of full-cream milk in every 200gms' boast gave the product a unique claim to fame while the chocolate crumb making process added a special 'Cadbury' taste to a brand that was to make its mark wherever it was promoted.

In Thailand today this Cadbury classic is available in Dairy Milk Chocolate, Dairy Milk Cashew & Cookies, and Dairy Milk Fruit & Nut. Chocolate in its many forms has long been a traditional gift and Cadbury blocks come in a range of sizes suitable for all ages and occasions.  They represent not only a sure-fire gift, but one of the world's iconic classic brands, rich in a proud history of its own.

And still in the enticingly delicious world of chocolate there is Toblerone, another classic brand which has put on its best face for the holiday season to present three irresistible gifts, each packaged to maximise product appeal to even the most conscientious of waistline watchers. Why, by the way, is this unique shaped chocolate product named Toblerone?  Well the man who started it all in Bern, Switzerland was Theodor Tobler who with his son established a chocolate factory in 1899. The brand became so popular that those charged with its promotion were later able to pose the question with confidence — "Don't you wish all triangles were made of Toblerone?"

Although that light hearted suggestion may be somewhat wishful thinking, those seasonal Toblerone gifts are sure to satisfy many a craving for a brand that has become synonymous with chocolate and Switzerland. For the many Thai chocolate lovers there is for example the Toblerone Festive Mini Box that contains Toblerone One by One Varieties Swiss Chocolate with Honey and Almond Nougat — Swiss Milk Chocolate with Honey and Almond Nougat, Swiss White Chocolate with Honey and Almond Nougat, Swiss Dark Chocolate with Honey and Almond Nougat.

Another tempting choice has to be the Toblerone Festive Baggy — Toblerone One by One Varieties of  Swiss Chocolate with Honey and Almond Nougat (Swiss Milk Chocolate with Honey and Almond Nougat, Swiss White Chocolate with Honey and Almond Nougat, Swiss Dark Chocolate with Honey and Almond Nougat) presented in a transparent gift 'Baggy'. And in the classic Toblerone triangular form is the Toblerone Festive Gift Pack that contains the range of Toblerone One by One Varieties of Swiss Chocolate with Honey and Almond Nougat.

Classic brands know no international boundaries and the iconic US Oreo cookie in common with many other Mondelez International brands has long been recognised worldwide. It has inspired countless recipes, is cherished by millions, has become the best selling cookie in the US, and is now part of twentieth century culture.

Why 'Oreo'? Well it appears that those who should know are not quite sure.  The name may have been derived from 'or' — the French for gold, or perhaps from the Greek word for mountain. Alternatively it may have been chosen because it was simple and easy to pronounce. Certainly since its inception it has been remarkably easy to digest with over 362 billion of the iconic cookies sold since the brand's introduction in 2012.

For the festive holiday season in Thailand, Oreo is available in a specially produced 'Oreo Selection 2014' that includes some of the brand's most popular flavours. The Oreo Selection is presented in attractive 411g and 274g gold coloured tins plus a very special 137g luxury blue tin. All the Oreo Selection 2014 gift presentations are now available at leading hypermarkets and supermarkets. And for children, there are the specially designed festive season 'Bus Joyful' and 'Tower Joyful' tins.

Sugar-free gum is always a welcome refresher and when it's one of the many Trident flavours it's more or less guaranteed a warm reception. Aware that many will reach out for their favourite chew during the festive season Trident has introduced an appealing range of selected gums that consists of two Trident Splash products and two Trident Recaldent items.

The special limited edition under a country theme of Paris, Hawaii, New York and Russia is available from now until 31 January 2015.

Great products that make irresistible gifts from a company with a declared vision to bring joy to our world by sharing some of its leading brands, awakening our senses, brightening our day and making us smile.

A truly seasonal aim encapsulated by every Mondelez moment.
