Sparkling celebrations for the New Year at The Okura Prestige Bangkok

New Year festivities at The Okura Prestige Bangkok on 31 December 2014 include live internet streaming of countdowns to midnight in other countries. As the atmosphere builds throughout the evening at the hotel's sparkling Prestige dinner and dance, diners can watch the New Year celebrations in cities such as Sydney, Tokyo and Beijing. The celebrations at Up & Above restaurant also feature a live five-piece band to help diners swing spectacularly into 2015.

Up & Above presents an international buffet lunch on 31 December 2014 priced at Bt1,400++ incl soft drinks and Bt2,400++ incl free flow selected wines, local beers and cocktails. Available from 12:00 noon - 2:30 pm.

The Prestige dinner and dance at Up & Above, from 7:00 pm - midnight, is priced at Bt4,800++ incl soft drinks. Guests may also book dinner with free flow selected wines, local beers and cocktails and pay Bt5,900++. The free flow service ends at 11:00 pm but Up & Above Bar remains open until 1:00 am as guests take advantage of prime viewing positions on the restaurant's half-moon terrace and balcony to witness Bangkok's spectacular display of fireworks to welcome the New Year. Enjoy exclusive Jacquesson champagne served from magnum as well as a selection of premium elixirs to celebrate the arrival of 2015.

Children aged four to 12 years: Bt600++ at all Up & Above dining events.

Elements restaurant prepares for 2015 in sparkling fashion with an eight-course set dinner and a welcome glass of Champagne. Chef de Cuisine Henry Jordan has created a well-balanced menu that includes a main course choice of slow-cooked halibut and salt bush lamb. The dinner is priced at Bt5,200++. Guests may choose the option of enjoying wines selected by Sommelier Marc Bittner at Bt7,999++. Available from 7:00 pm - 12:30 am.

Elements guests will enjoy the city's midnight fireworks from a prime vantage point on the restaurant's 25th floor terrace.

at Yamazato, the hotel's signature Japanese restaurant, the celebrations on New Year's Eve begin with a set lunch menu priced at Bt1,500++ per set. Available from 11:30 am - 2:30 pm.

Master Chef Shigeru Hagiwara presents exciting options for dinner on 31 December 2014 with Soba Kaiseki and Teppanyaki set menus priced at Bt3,000++ per set and Bt4,000++ per set respectively (served from 6:00 pm - 10:30 pm) as well as the traditional late evening Soba Noodles (served from 10:00 pm - 12:30 am) priced at Bt800++.

Prices are subject to 10% service charge and 7% government tax.

Yamazato offers two Osechi Boxes priced at Bt3,000 net and Bt6,500 net for collection on New Year's Eve. Both boxes contain a delicious selection of traditional Japanese dishes prepared carefully for enjoyment at home. Order between 1 November and 27 December 2014 for collection on 31 December 2014 between 11:00 am and 9:00 pm.

Starter: Edamame sesame tofu with salmon roe with starchy soy sauce. Soup: Clear soup with pink and white fish dumplings Shiitake mushroom, Yuzu. Sashimi: Tuna, yellowtail, and surf clam. Grilled dish: Grilled snowfish with yuzu flavour, marinade turnip, sweeten chestnuts. Simmered dish: Simmered koya tofu with taro, chicken ball, bamboo and lotus roots. Tempura: Shrimp, fish, vegetable. Rice dish: Steamed rice with sea bream, pickles, miso soup. Dessert: Rice flour dumplings, sweet red beans and strawberry.

Toshikoshi Soba

Diner Bt3,000++

Starters: Marinade herring roe in soy sauce; Cod roe roomed in Kombu Kelp; Dried mullet roe with radish; black soy beans; salmon flakes mixed with salmon roe; smoked duck meat; mayonnaises with radish. Soup: Clear soup with shrimp dumplings, shimeji mushroom, yuzu; Sashimi; Tuna, sea bream, sweet shrimp and surf clam. Grilled dish: Grilled yellow tail, radish, paprika, asparagus with starchy sea urchin sauce; Main dish: Tempura ball of scallop, shrimp. Rice dish: Sarashina soba (hot or cold) tuna roll of sushi. Dessert: Rice cake of bracken with soy bean and green tea powder, assorted fruit.

Teppanyaki Dinner

(31 Dec - 3 Jan)

Bt4,000++

Starter: Marinade oyster and mushrooms. Sashimi: Fried vegetables. Sea food: Scallop from Hokkaido, large prawn. Main dish: special Japanese beef sirloin steak 200g marbling score 3. Rice dish: Soba noodles served with dipping sauce of duck and garlic. Dessert: Fruit cocktail with honey jelly.

Yamazato celebrates 2015 with new 'Shinnen' menus for lunch and dinner (available 1 to 3 January 2015).

The dinner menu also features additional à la carte dishes, including Osechi Moriawase, priced at Bt1,700++, and seasonal steamed beef with seafood in basket created by our Master Chef Shigeru Hagiwara.

Assorted Osechi: Home-made simmered black soy beans marinated Japanese artichoke, Japanese omelette roll, pink and white colour fish cake grilled salmon with yuzu flavour glazed kumquat orange marinade herring roe, simmered shrimp and simmered young sardines with sweet soy sauce fish roe rolled in kombu kelp. Soup: Clear soup with chicken, radish, carrots, shiitake mushroom, mocha rice cake. Sashimi: Three kinds. Rice dish: Steamed rice and Japanese pickles. Dessert: Rice flour dumplings, sweet red beans and strawberry.

Starter: Marinade herring roe in soy sauce, cod roe roomed in kombu kelp, dried mullet roe with radish, black soy beans, salmon flakes mixed with salmon roe smoked duck meat, mayonnaises with radish. Soup: Clear soup with shrimp dumplings, turnip, gobo burdock, shimeji mushu room, Yuzu. Sashimi: Four kinds of assorted sashimi. Tempura: Shrimp and vegetables. Main dish: Wagyu and vegetables steamed in basket served with chili vinegar and sesame sauce OR Seafood and vegetables steamed in basket served with chili vinegar and sesame sauce. Rice dish: Steamed rice, pickles, and Miso soup. Dessert: Rice cake of bracken with soy bean and green tea powder, assorted fruit.
