Regrets helping Russian enter industry

Former singer and model Starsha "App" Dansithitechodom says she is afraid of meeting her former Russian boyfriend again, after he allegedly beat her with a dumbbell and tried to force 40 sleeping pills down her throat.

App visited Phra Khanong police last week to help with inquiries into a complaint she lodged against her ex-boyfriend, model Ivan Lomakin, last June.

She laid another complaint with Thong Lor police earlier this month, accusing Mr Lomakin and a Thai woman friend of threatening her on social media.

Mr Lomakin did not turn up to answer questions, sending his lawyer, Buarawong Supkuengsan, instead.

App, now an event organiser, said she regrets helping Mr Lomakin enter the industry.

He returned the favour by allegedly attacking her half a dozen times, including striking her with a dumbbell and dangling her from the balcony of their 15th-floor condominium.

His lawyer, Ms Buarawong, said her client denies assaulting App. The episode with the dumbbell stemmed from a "misunderstanding", as the two had just argued. She also denied her client held App over the balcony.

"I wonder why App never went to hospital to get her supposed injuries examined, if her claims are really true," she said.

She said Mr Lomakin would like App to return his passport, as he wants to go back overseas. Since his visa expired on Feb 14, the Immigration Department has been fining him 500 baht a day for overstay.

Immigration officials, along with police from Thong Lor station where App laid her most recent complaint, also turned up at Phra Khanong station. Mr Lomakin asked in a text message for the chance to settle the matter, but App refused.

Ms Buarawong said if App does not return the passport, he will consider laying a complaint of theft. App said her former boyfriend’s belongings are still at her apartment, but she does not know if the passport is among them, as she is too scared to go back. "Since we split up I haven’t gone near the place. As a sign of good faith, I am willing to have the police collect his belongings and keep them at the station," she said.

Police say App's complaint has made no progress, as she has yet to present any evidence. When police probed her claims that Mr Lomakin was taking drugs, App changed her mind and said she would rather focus on the assault matter.

App said a security guard at the condominium turned up during the balcony incident to help her. She intends bringing him along as a witness.

Ms Buarawong said App would call this guard whenever she and Mr Lomakin argued, and she wondered if the whole thing wasn’t a set-up.

Speaking to reporters at Thong Lor station this month, App said Mr Lomakin’s behaviour started to change in the middle of last year, when he started associating with people in drug circles.

She stopped seeing him, but two months after their break-up he contacted her from overseas, asking if they could get back together again.

She agreed to give him another chance, but he reverted to form, and she called off their relationship again.

More recently, he and a Thai woman friend had been threatening her on Facebook. "If it doesn't end in prison, it will have to end in hospital. Which would you prefer?" one message allegedly read.

Phra Khanong police have called App and Mr Lomakin back on Feb 25.

Actor 'Boom' denies sabotage

Actor Piyaphun "Boom" Khamkrit is denying claims fellow Channel 7 actor Saran "Porche" Sirilak crashed his motorcycle last week because an embittered actress in the same stable tampered with his brakes.

Boom said netizens should know better than to make such malicious claims, even in jest.

He was responding to a claim that Porche crashed his bike on a trip to Chachoengsao last week because actress Ornlene "Give" Sothiwanwongse, who had criticised him in the media just the day before, tampered with the brakes of his vehicle.

"Are you sure Give didn’t send someone to cut his brakes?" the message read.

Boom said he feels bad that his friends Give and Porsche are at odds, and he has tried to keep out of their row. However, he could not let such an unkind remark go unchallenged.

"I have kept out of their dispute, as I am a neutral party," Boom wrote on social media.

"However, when someone makes such nasty claims, I have to step forward."

Porche was admitted to a local hospital on Wednesday, suffering broken ribs, a punctured lung, and bruising to his liver and kidney, after coming off his bike while on a road trip with friends.

He was transferred to Vejthani Hospital in Bangkok, where doctors declared he was out of danger. It is expected it will take about three weeks for him to recover.

Boom said he and Give visited Porche in hospital the same afternoon, where they were able to speak to the actor’s father, Jak.

"Give and I were relieved to hear he is now out of danger," he said.

On Tuesday, Give criticised Porsche over his relationship with her younger sister, Grace.

Give, who declared she had ended her friendship with Porsche, said he treated her younger sister poorly. At her family’s request, Grace had also cut ties with the actor.

The actor’s father, Jak, said his son bought the bike only recently, and was not used to it. He suspected Porche lost his balance. The actor has yet to comment on his accident.

Tak's devotion hits top gear

Actress Bongkot "Tak" Khongmalai says her love for her billionaire husband is as solid as ever, after he bought her a 10 million baht Porsche for Valentine’s Day.

Tak takes the wheel of her white Panamera S E-hybrid in pictures she published of her and her family on social media last week.

Her husband, Dtac founder Boonchai Bencharongkul, and their young son accompany her, along with a red Louis Vuitton bag which media reports said he also bought his wife to mark the occasion.

"Thank you for loving me and our son. I have never driven a Porsche before, and never dreamed I would have the opportunity," Tak enthused. "You are a good man, as you really do show your love."

The pair earlier took a boat trip in the provinces together. It comes after a rocky patch in which Tak took to social media to declare a female admirer had taken up with her husband, and that she felt like a spurned minor wife.

Tak later deleted the comment, after she questioned her husband about the matter and he was able to put her mind at rest.
