With so many fashion brands emerging every day, both online and in actual stores, it is always exciting to discover a brand with real potential among thousands of fad-driven spur-of-the-moment Instagram shops.

Earlier this year, the "Ultimate Showcase Thai Touch by the Department of Industrial Promotion", a project by Elle magazine and the Department of Industrial Promotion, scoured the country for talented designers to be groomed and guided by the industry's top thinkers, such as Asava's Polpat Asavaprapha.

After six months of rigorous work with 30 new faces in two main activities -- Designer's Think Tank (May 2015) and Fashion Business Forum (August 2015) -- two new brands were proudly born -- Sarran and Kerdkaew. Their first collections were showcased last Friday at The Ultimate Showcase show at Elle Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2015.

The event featured works from the two new brands who have been trained heavily over the past six months. Both brands' creations used raw materials sourced from Thai providers in order to promote the fashion industry in Thailand.

The show garnered a lot of attention, both local and international. Fashion bloggers and style icons warmly attended the two brands' shows, such as Filipino fashion blogger Bryanboy, Swiss blogger Kristina Bazan, Hong Kong fashion stylish Tina Leung, Japanese fashion writer Yu Masui and many more.

The brands will also be showcased in Bangkok Fashion Avenue, a project launched last year to turn Bangkok into an immersive fashion city.

This year's edition is titled "The Unseen Edition". The fifth and final pillar of the project is The Perfect Pair, in which the brands, media, and buyers will meet to negotiate business opportunities.
