Singer says he wants divorce

Absentee husband and errant father Peter Corp Dyrendal has broken months of silence, admitting he has told his wife he wants a divorce but denying other women are involved.

Singer and TV host Peter went before the media last week to declare he and his wife, Ployphan "Ploy" Taveerat, were better off apart, as they argue constantly. Peter left home in mid-2015 after the two started bickering in front of their two young children.

"I have told Ploy that if we can't be together without arguing in front of the boys, I would rather have a divorce. She needn't worry about the kids, as I will never desert them," he said.

After Ploy last July went public about her plight as a deserted single mum, Thais attacked Peter on social media. The performer says he now regrets the months of silence, as it helped drive them apart.

Peter has been busy making a big bike TV series in the provinces, and until recently has avoided visiting home or talking to his wife.

In recent months, as a rash of hate sites flourished targeting absent Peter and his biking pals, Peter laid police complaints for defamation against his social media critics -- while still staying clear of his wife.

In July last year he was linked romantically to one of his two female co-hosts, Prissana "Annie" Pannyasirinkul, a shareholder in the biking show.

In the early days of the saga, plucky Ploy managed to corner her husband and his manager at their office in Bangkok. She rammed her Toyota into his manager's motorbike in a desperate attempt to talk to her husband, but the pair managed to flee.

When Ploy was admitted to hospital twice last August with a high white blood cell count, and later a virus, she sent word through Peter's friends that she was ill. Peter again chose not to get in touch.

Ploy disclosed he made a fleeting visit to see the children in February, though she was away at the time. More recently, he has posted pictures of himself on social media with the boys and members of his family.

Days before Peter's revelations last week, Ploy disclosed the two had started talking about their future with the help of elders who had stepped in on their behalf.

She admitted their life as a couple was over, and it was time to move on.

"We haven't signed any papers, because Peter wants to focus on his work. We have reached an initial agreement, though I am not willing to split up the children," she said.

On Thursday, Peter finally went on television to clear the air. He was accompanied by his manager and co-presenter Annie.

Insisting he had not forgotten his children, Peter said he sends money home for their upkeep and education every month.

In good months, he sends home 200,000 baht. Ploy, who last month returned to work as an air hostess, calls on family to help with the kids when she is away.

Peter said he regrets not speaking up sooner, as the silence led to damaging speculation. "I have never played around outside marriage. Annie is a friend and nothing more. We met after I had left home and was looking for a co-presenter. She happens to share a love of big bikes like me," he said.

Annie said she joined the show to pursue her dream of making a show about life on the road. She agreed Peter and she were just mates.

Pat gives up on star

Actress Napapa "Pat" Thantrakul says she has given up on star actor and singer Pakin ''Tono'' Kumvilaisak, after he declared he was not ready for love.

Opening up about her love life, Pat said she was keen to get to know Tono better, but he wanted to stay friends. Tono broke up with fiery actress Pattaratida "Tangmo" Patcharaveerapong in July last year.

"I asked Tono if he wanted to start talking about deepening the relationship, but he said no," she said, admitting she is the plain-spoken type.

After the two appeared together on a TV show a few months ago, fan clubs sprang up linking the pair as a fantasy couple.

At the time, however, even Pat appeared reluctant to commit. She admitted talking to a series of admirers, among them disgraced football star Atit "Back" Daosawang.

Her name came to prominence after her secret relationship with a poor, self-described street racer Thanapol "Jack" Tayahan, 20, ended in a soi-style fight between her family and his new girlfriend's supporters.

The highly publicised fight in Bang Kho Laem district on Jan 2 was caught on video and led to legal action, with both sides laying charges of assault. A series of admirers approached Pat on social media in the wake of that drama, though she has a particular fondness for men who share her love of motorcycles such as Tono.

"Many fan club members want me to wait for Tono, but as a woman I don't have to wait for anyone," she declared.

"On this basis I have gone ahead and opened my heart to many men ... but I don't have to sign up to anyone. I eliminate people and the result is I am left with none of those I started with."

Backing up Pat's comments, Tono said entering a relationship would place too many demands on his heart, and he would rather focus on work.

Rocker brushes off assault charges

Rocker Sek Loso is shrugging off his latest trouble with the law, after he reported to Lad Phrao police last week to acknowledge charges he attacked a friend of his ex-wife.

When Sek turned up at the station in the early hours of May 1, he was all smiles for waiting reporters.

The rocker denied he had delayed responding to his police summons, saying he has been busy performing in Samut Sakhon, and came as soon as he was free.

Police have charged him with assault causing serious injury after he allegedly beat his ex-wife's personal assistant Chanokporn "Bee" Boonpeng on April 13 in the Ram Intra area.

Police said he attacked Bee after coming across her, his young daughter, and sister of his estranged ex-wife as they were heading out for a bite to eat.

Sek's ex-wife Wiphakorn "Kan" Sukpimai later took her sister Kae before reporters to recount the attack, demanding Sek be brought to justice.

Just as he admitted hitting Bee, whom he says defamed him on social media, Sek has previously admitting punching Kan in the days before their marriage ended.

Sek, accompanied by his lawyer, spoke to police for two hours before securing his release on bail of 150,000 baht. Speaking to reporters, he said he gave a partial confession to the claims.

"I owned up to some details, but disputed others. I am sure it's nothing serious, and am really relaxed about it. It's just an assault case, not attempting to kill, which would be more serious," the rocker said.

Bee suffered a broken jaw in the attack, with doctors saying her recovery is likely to take two months. Police had earlier disclosed they might lay charges of attempting to kill, depending on her doctor's prognosis. They have since opted for the lesser charges.

Police have also called in a member of Sek's retinue for questioning, after he was linked to the attack.

Sek said he would return to respond further to the charges in a couple of days.
