Thailand Tatler celebrated the last of its teenage years with a huge gala that was worthy of its reputation as the magazine with its finger on the pulse of Bangkok society. Everyone who was anyone was there, from socialites to diplomats, and even a smattering of politicians, dressed to the nines in various interpretations of the "White Victorian" theme.
Celebrating the 19th anniversary of ‘Thailand Tatler’, from second left: Jonathan Loney, best theme dress man; Naphalai Areesorn, managing editor of ‘Thailand Tatler’; MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra, person of the year; MR Chantaraladda Yugala, most eligible woman; Vorakorn Chatikavanij, most stylish woman; the couple of the year Jutatip and Permpoon Krairiksh with MR Srikhumrung Yugala, best theme dress woman, in-between them; Nat Sarasas, most eligible man of the year; and the most stylish man award winner Suriyon Sriorathaikul.
The mezzanine floor foyer of the Siam Kempinski Hotel was packed with a frothy sea of white lace and pearls. On hand to greet everyone was Thailand Tatler's managing editor Naphalai Areesorn, in a white lace gown that she later admitted was her wedding trousseau. Now not many ladies with children in their twenties are able to fit into their wedding gowns so she should be writing a book on how to keep such a slim and slender figure. Perhaps it's all that rushing around town attending three social functions each evening that does it!
