Super sonic

Sonic: according to an online dictionary, sonic means "having a speed approaching or being that of sound in air, about 1,220km per hour at sea level". Nonetheless, this latest addition of Ekamai won't make your life as complicated as a physics class. It's located at 90 Soi Ekamai and may take about 10 minutes from the BTS station (regardless of sea level or flooding).

Sonic aims to offer an alternative nightlife experience and is making some ultra cool noise in the neighbourhood. Ekamai crowd: Don't turn deaf just yet; open your mind and you may find that this speed of sound taps into a new creative frequency for all your partying needs.

The result of seven months of conversion, Sonic turned the location (formerly Jet nightclub) into a modern warehouse with an impressive urban design. Subtle, stylish and spacious, Sonic echoes loft comfort and sleek furnishings. In the neutral industrial setting, you can find playful murals here and there. By the grand opening night (Feb 17), a gigantic 7m-tall man-with-moustache sculpture conceived by Thai artist Taweesak "Lolay" Srithongdee will oversee the entrance.
