Lovers of music and ballroom dancing joined forces recently to mark the 30th anniversary of the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra (BSO). The "Grand Symphony Ball" dancing concert was organised by Sukum Navapan, chairman of the board of directors of the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra Foundation (BSOF) under the royal patronage of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn at the Shangri-La Hotel's grand ballroom.
Since ballroom dancing is an activity enjoyed more by ladies than men, there was an interesting mix of mature women escorted by very young men who were their dance instructors.
The ladies came prepared for the showdown, dressed to the nines in sequinned flouncy ball gowns in all colours of the rainbow, heavily accessorised with sparkling jewellery, feathers and diamante dancing shoes.
