Italian watchmaker Officine Panerai, known for its long involvement with the art scene, has opened a new travelling exhibition in China dubbed "O'Clock _ Time Design, Design Time."
Organised in partnership with Milan-based Triennale Design Museum, the month-long event, which was held at the Cafa Art Museum in Beijing, allowed audiences to explore the relationship between time and design through a wide-ranging display of installations, objects, works of art and videos by international artists and designers seeking to answer questions such as: How is time measured? How can the passing of time be shown? How can it be experienced?
The exhibition's design and arrangement was the work of Patricia Urquiola. All the works exhibited aimed to tackle subjects including the passage of time, and evolution and decay, in ways that are sometimes ironic, poetic, meditative and critical.
