SLICE OF LIFE
As a veteran educator, Linden Phanpho says children can learn a number of skills that will take them through kindergarten. And to help them achieve just that, the principal at the International School of Chonburi has an open-door policy which allows students, from two- to seven-year-olds, and their parents to consult with her about the slightest of problems.
Linden, a calm and collected primary teacher by profession, is hands on when it comes to the needs of her students. At the time of this interview, she calmly listened to a young student relate the latest happenings in the schoolyard without shooing her off to play.
Linden, a New Zealander, has lived most of her life in Thailand and has a wealth of experience from teaching children at primary level for over 25 years. Being a principal comes with its demands. Besides addressing daily issues at the school, she also fills in as substitute teacher when needed.
