Leading French fashion house, Christian Dior unveils a new accessory for spring/summer 2013 called "Dior in Me", designed by Camille Miceli, creative director of accessories.
"Dior in Me" is a collection of space-age style, 1960s inspired bib necklaces _ a melding of inspirations and eras, bringing together traditional craft techniques and avant-garde design in a single object. Half lacquered metal, half crystal-set plexiglass, it further explores one of the primary themes of Dior creative director Raf Simons' first haute couture collection for the house last July: the focus on mixing materials, motifs or embroideries, or what Camille Miceli calls "half-half".
These neck pieces are available at selected Dior stores around the world with colour coordination set to each geographical zone. So collectors will have to undertake some serious travelling to get all five models. Dior stores in Europe will offer the version called "New Blue" (an electric blue), the United States will have mauve, "metallic bonbon" (a fuchsia) in Japan, "cotton candy" (an old pink) in China, and peach for the rest of Asia. The plexiglass with crystals for evening looks are also available. As for bracelets, they are designed to match with the beautiful necklace.
