Thailand is once again causing controversy for demonstrating that there's no such thing as a basic history course here, and that our World War II "experts" are presumably limited to balloon animals. That's because the latest incident of Nazi-egg-in-face comes courtesy of Chulalongkorn University - yes, arguably Thailand's most prestigious education institute - who has had to apologise for a mural created by a group of its students.
The painting, which was set up in the middle of Chula's campus for the school's graduation ceremony last week, could have started off innocuously enough. It was basically a compilation of comic book superheroes such as Batman, Superman and the Incredible Hulk, with the word "Congratulations" painted above. But then, oh brother...
