After minimalism dominated last season, autumn/winter 2013 make-up moves towards a moody and mysterious mode but with punk-infused femininity and goth-inspired glamour.

"The whole gothic approach is very interesting to me because we are interpreting a mood through colours. For a woman to put on red lipstick or a black eye _ neither is innocent. Hence these shades are not sweet, they have mystique to them," said MAC make-up artist Lyne Desnoyers.
