Instead of going for drama, glamour or fantasy, top make-up artists have muted backstage beauty effects that have been translated into a ''realistic subtlety'' by MAC for its spring/summer 2014 cosmetics. The hues are not based on the palette of pastels devised for previous seasons and the new line is subtle yet alive, intended to project a fresh but feminine look.
''The main thread throughout this season is the idea of outdoor, day-lit beauty,'' explained MAC make-up artist Terry Barber. ''We used oils, highlighters and even fine glitter to emulate dewdrop skin and flickers of sunlight _ high-tech products to create low-tech beauty.''
Because of this realistic take, runway looks have now become more wearable and women can alternate between the four styles created for the spring/summer season, namely: Day-Glow, Light FX, The New Eye-Deal and CC-Thu Colour.
