Flood alert in 15 provinces
The Meteorological Department on Saturday morning issued another warning for people in 15 provinces to prepare for widespread scattered rain with heavy falls in some areas and the danger of floods from today to May 29.

People living near hillsides and waterways in Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Phayao, Nan, Lamphun, Lampang, Phrae, Uttaradit, Phitsanulok, Phetchabun, Chanthaburi, Trat, Ranong, Phangnga and Satun should prepare for heavy rain and flash flooding, it warned.
There will also be strong wind-generated 2- to 3-metre-high waves in the Andaman Sea. All shipping should proceed with caution and small boats should keep ashore during the period, the department said.
