Pol Lt-Gen Taweesak Tuchinda, chairman of the Bangkok election committee, said candidates can register from Jan 21-25 between 8.30am-4.30pm at City Hall's Rattanakosin Room.
The committee's decision on the election date would be forwarded to the city clerk for approval today.
He said all candidates are required to strictly comply with the election law to avoid legal cases being filed against them.
Each candidate can bring supporters to the City Hall on the day of registration, but should be careful not to organise a show or any entertainment which may be seen as a ploy to win votes.
The candidates should avoid making false allegations against one another and must not cite the monarchy in their election campaigns.
The Election Commission allows the candidates to campaign on all kinds of social media but they will be monitored by the Special Branch police for possible offences against the cyber crime law.
