Poll: Pongsapat leads in Bangkok race
Pol Gen Pongsapat Pongcharoen of the Pheu Thai Party was still in the lead in the race for the governorship of Bangkok, Nida Poll at the National Institute of Development Administration reported on Wednesday.

The pollster said opinions were sought from 1,503 people aged 18 years and up and of all education levels and a wide range of occupations in all 50 districts of Bangkok between Jan 23 and Jan 26,.
Asked who they would vote for if the election took place on the survey day, 23.82% of the respondents said Pol Gen Pongsapat, 19.16% backed Sukhumbhand Baripatra of the Democrat Party, and 5.12% supported former national police chief Pol Gen Sereepisut Temeyaves, an independent candidate, Nida Poll said.
Suharit Siamwalla took fourth place, with 1.13% support, followed by Kosit Suvinitjit (0.20%), and Sanhapoj Suksrimuang (0.07%).
As many as 48.04% of the polled people said they had not yet made a decision and 2.26% said they would not bother to vote.
Nida Poll said Pol Gen Pongsapat was more popular in central and northern areas of Bangkok and southern areas of Thon Buri, while MR Sukhumbhand had more support from people in southern and eastern areas of the city and in northern parts of Thon Buri.
