King on the mend

A blood test has revealed that His Majesty the King has a bacterial infection, the Royal Household Bureau announced on Sunday.

A medical check-up by the team of royal physicians at Siriraj Hospital also found that the swelling of the King's knees has diminished. 

The King felt no pain in his knees, the bureau said.

His body temperature reduced while his breathing, heartbeat and blood pressure were normal yesterday. The King felt less exhausted, his appetite was normal and he slept well.

Doctors provided him with antibiotics to treat the infection and medication to treat the swelling.
