Rape warrant for Thong Lor policeman
An off-duty police officer working as a taxi driver is accused of abducting and raping a teenage passenger.

In the afternoon of April 20, the 18-year-old victim and her boyfriend caught a taxi at Phuthamonthon, on the outskirts of Bangkok, for a trip to Rayong province.
The young woman told Samut Prakan police the next day that the driver left the expressway in Samut Prakan province, forced her boyfriend out of the taxi and then handcuffed her. He then took her to an apartment room in Muang district of Samut Prakan where he held her prisoner the whole night, raping her several times while she was still handcuffed.
The victim said about 10am, he released her so she could take a shower and drove her to a spot near a noodle shop where she works in Nakhon Pathom.
Pol Sub Lt Thatree Suebsamarn
Before letting her out of the vehicle, the driver identified himself as Pol Sub Lt Thatree Suebsamarn from Thong Lor police station, gave her his contact number and warned her that if she made a complaint to the police he would kill her.
Police investigators confirmed the vehicle registration number the victim gave them is owned by Pol Sub Lt Thatree, 53. The victim also identified him from his registered citizen ID image. A warrant was obtained for his arrest.
Pol Lt Col Somphop Suphaporn, the case officer at Samut Prakan police station, went to Thong Lor police station on Wednesday afternoon to arrest the accused rapist but he had fled.
Pol Sub Lt Thatree later contacted Samut Prakan police, advising them he would turn himself in on Thursday afternoon.
He faces charges of rape and assaulting a defenceless person and causing them physical or mental harm.
Around noon Thursday, Pol Col Samrit Yeamket, case officer at Thong Lor police station, said they were unable to contact Pol Sub Lt Thatree.
