Dem MP to resign, run for PAO chief
Democrat list MP Nipon Boonyamanee, a party deputy secretary-general, will resign his seat in parliament tomorrow to run in a local election for the post of president of the Songkhla provincial administration organisation (PAO).

Mr Nipon on Thursday said he will submit a resignation letter to the party tomorrow, June 14, and it will take effect immediately.
The Democrat Party's executive committee on May 13 passed a resolution agreeing that Mr Nipon resign and run for the presidency of the Songkhla PAO. The election date has been set for Aug 4. The registration of candidates begins on June 17.
Chaiwat Traisunan, who is 50th on the Democrat party list, will replace Mr Nipon in parliament.
Mr Nipon said he would run on a policy of creating a "white PAO" by eradicating dark influence and corruption.
