Mr Prompong said this was decided at Wednesday's meeting of the Pheu Thai Party.
No other bills would be proposed for joint consideration.
Government chief whip Amnuay Khlangpha would ask Niyom Worapanya, a Pheu Thai list MP, to withdraw his draft amnesty bill, which was similar to Mr Worachai's, to prevent any confusion.
Labour Minister Chalerm Yubamrung also agreed at the meeting that he would not propose his private MP's reconciliation bill for consideration along with Mr Worachai's.
The Worachai bill would be deliberated in the first reading only. It would not be pushed for all three readings at the same time.
None of the other amnesty-related bills would be taken up for consideration on Aug 1, the first day of the new parliament session.
A joint committee of the coalition parties would be set up to explain the bill to the people, he said.
Those to be appointed to the joint committee would include the secretary-general, chairman and deputy chairman of the government whips, and the spokesman of the Pheu Thai Party, Mr Prompong said.
