Ciaran Ward, Mr Blair’s spokesman, told the Bangkok Post via e-mail that no fee had been offered or requested for Mr Blair to join the unity forum.
The government will host the forum entitled "Uniting for the Future: Learning from Each Other's Experience" at the Plaza Athenee Hotel on Sept 2, 2013.
"Tony Blair was delighted to accept Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra's invitation to address next month's unity forum, in support of the government's ongoing peace and reconciliation initiatives," Mr Ward said.
