Gen Yutthasak, who is in charge of security affairs, said the insurgents were looking for weak targets with little security in place.

Private establishments and innocent people could also be insurgents' targets during this time, he said.

Gen Yutthasak said he would call a meeting of the operations centre for solving problems in southern border provinces tomorrow at 2pm. Representatives from all security agencies would attend.
