40 Russians injured in Kanchanaburi
Kanchanaburi_Forty Russian tourists were injured, four seriously, when a tour bus hit an earthen roadside barrier and overturned in Sai Yok district on Friday.

Three Thais, comprising the bus driver and his wife and a local guide, were also injured in the accident, which occurred about 2.30pm, said Pol Lt Col Suparerk Chaiphumsakul, of Sai Yok police station.

The injured were taken to Sai Yok hospital. The four Russians who sustained serious injuries were later transferred to Phaholpolphayuhasaena Hospital in Muang district.
Boonsong Kosakoon, 39, the bus driver, said the road was slippery, with many sharp curves. The accident occurred when he lost control of the vehicle, which hit a roadside crash barrier and overturned.
Pol Lt Col Suparerk suspected the accident was due to the bus's brakes failed. The driver was taken to the police station for further questioning after medical treatment at the hospital.
Kanchanaburi is one of the most popular destinations for foreign tourists visiting the country.
