The southern border province has seen heavy frainall for three consecutive days and at least 1,612 households have been affected -  in Sungai Kolok, Chanae,  Si Sakhon, Waeng, Cho Airong, Rueso and Tak Bai districts.

In Sungai Kolok, the floodwater level was reported to be 60 to 80 centimetres.

About 24 roads in the province had been inundated and were impassable to vehicles. Four schools in flood-hit areas were closed temporarily, reports said.

In Yala province, rain has stopped falling and the floodwater has started to recede.

Three schools have resumed classes in flood-affected areas of Yala.

Some areas along the waterways remain flooded and about 200 families have moved their belongings to higher ground.
