Ms Wiboonluk said there was no meeting of the National Rice Policy Committee scheduled on Friday, March 1, as was reported by some media.
The rice panel would meet in mid-March, she said.
She said the Ministry of Commerce, ex-officio secretary of the committee, was still gathering information and hearing opinions from all parties, including academics who want the ministry to review the set ceiling pledging prices of rice.
The gathered information and suggestions would be forwarded to the committee meeting for consideration when making a decision on the rice pledging price, she added.
Commerce Minister Boonsong Teriyapirom, who is now in overseas, had expressed concern about the reports and had ordered the Internal Trade Department to clarify the issue, Ms Wiboonluk said.
