69 dead in Spanish train derailment

The president of the regional government of Galicia Alberto Nunez Feijoo initially told public television that between 45 and 50 people had been killed in the crash.
The toll from a train wreck in northwestern Spain later rose to 69 dead and 143 injured.
Rescue workers recovered 65 bodies from the wreckage of the train which derailed late Wednesday near Santiago de Compostela, and four more victims died later in hospital, a spokesman for the regional judiciary said, adding that some carriages were yet to be searched.
