Chukiert new Council of State sec-gen

The House of Representatives on Thursday voted 356-0 with six abstentions to endorse the appointment of Chukiert Ratanachaichan as secretary-general of the Council of State, as proposed by the cabinet.

Mr Chukiert will replace Achporn Charuchinda who retires on Sept 30.

The Secretariat of the Prime Minister will forward the cabinet proposal, approved by the House, to His Majesty the King for a royal command.

Mr Chukiert is currently deputy secretary-general of the Council of State, the government's legal arm.
