PM to visit Vietnam July 10

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva will pay an official visit to Vietnam on July 10, PM's deputy secretary-general Panithan Wattanayakorn said on Thursday.

He will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban, PM's secretary-general Niphon Promphan, and adviser Kanok Wongtra-ngan.

The team will depart from the Air Force's air terminal at 12am for Hanoi and return at 10.45pm on the same day.

Mr Abhisit will pay a courtesy call on Vietnamese President Nguyen Ming Chit and Communist Party of Vietnam general secretary Nong Duc Manh.  He will also hold talks on various matters with Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Tan Dung.

Thailand wants to promote bilateral ties with Vietnam in various fields including politics, trde, investment, tourism, transport and education, Mr Panithan said.
