Children are future of the country, especially at a time that the Thai society needs the smart and good people, Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said on Saturday morning.

The speech was made while the premier was chairing a function to open the national Children’s Day at Nimibutr building of the Suphachalasai National Stadium in Bangkok.

Mr Abhisit also expressed his wishes for the children to have happiness and knowledge the whole day of the Children’s Day celebration.

The children joining the celebration at the national stadium promised the prime minister that they will do good deed and will be good people. They also gave moral support to Mr Abhisit in running the country.
