Five companies of police will be deployed at the Royal Plaza, Government House and parliament and nearby areas to maintain law and order during the planned rally by village chiefs and kamnan on Wednesday, police said.
The village headmen and kamnans plan to protest against the government's bill which sets a limit on the terms of new office holders. Incumbent elected village chiefs and kaman serve until mandatory retirement at 60.
Deputy national police chief Woraping Chiewpreecha today called a meeting to plan the police operation.
