Health minister: Splash water gently

The Ministry of Public Health has urged Songkran revellers to splash water in a courteous manner in accordance with tradition for their own safety. 

Public Health Minister Pradit Sinthawanarong said on Thursday that he hoped people would be careful, gentle and enjoy the festival in a traditional way.

Mr Pradit said people should ask permission before splashing water on each other.
