90 dogs saved from dinner table (pix)

Ninety dogs destined for restaurant menus in Vietnam were rescued by police in Kalasin province on Tuesday night. 

Police said they intercepted a pickup truck, licence plate Sakon Nakhon Bor Bor (บบ) 3823, on route 213 in Kalasin's Somdet district about 11.30pm.

A total of 90 dogs were crammed into a steel cage on the back of the vehicle. The cage was covered with black cloth.
