The Supreme Court's Criminal Division for Holders of Political Positions on Tuesday postponed to Sept 10 the reading of its decision in a case against five former top officials and an Austrian company over alleged corruption in the purchase of fire boats and trucks for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration in 2004.
The court ordered the postponement because former deputy interior minister Pracha Maleenont, the second defendant, failed to show up to hear the judgement.
It also issued a warrant for Mr Pracha's arrest and rescheduled the delivery of the verdict for Sept 10. If Mr Pracha fails to show up on that day, they court can read the judgement in his absence.
