The Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) has approved in principle the building of a new mass transit route, the Brown Line between Kae Rai and Lam Salee, at an estimated cost of 45 billion baht and scheduled for completion in 2021.

The 21.6-km route will be developed as a monorail. It is a new addition to the transportation master plan as this route has no mass transit line to serve the public,  MRTA chairman RatchaneeTreepipatkul said on Thursday.

A total of 22 stations are planned along the route, which will start at Kae Rai, travel to Ngam Wong Wan Road, Kaset -Navamin Road and end in Lam Salee area.
