Mcot to appeal over Sorayuth payment

- +

Mcot Plc will appeal against the Central Administrative Court's order for it to pay over 55 million baht to Rai Som Co _ the company owned by well-known news programme host Sorayuth Suthassanachinda.

Mcot's senior vice president Tassanawadee Thongprasert informed the Stock Exchange of Thailand yesterday that the company plans to file an appeal with the Supreme Administrative Court.

She was referring to the Central Administrative Court's ruling on Wednesday that Mcot must pay back the 55.7 million baht sum to Rai Som Co in 90 days. The money comprises 55.5 million baht worth of airtime fee discount, which Mcot owed Rai Som for its share of revenue earned from extra commercials broadcast by the company. The commercials appeared during news programmes on Mcot's Modernine TV channel some seven years ago.
