Six soldiers narrowly escaped death when a bomb exploded in Rueso district of Narathiwat just 20 metres away from where they were on Sunday afternoon. 

Rueso police station was told about a bomb at 12.20pm by villagers. Officers went to inspect the scene where they found a hole about 1.3m deep and two metres wide at a molehill on a roadside and some bomb fragments.
