TV fundraiser for Haiyan victims

The government will tomorrow night air a special programme on Channel 11 to take donations to help victims of super typhoon Haiyan, which devastated the Philippines during the weekend, government spokesman Teerat Rattanasevi said. 

He said the fundraising programme will start at 8.30pm.

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said the Foreign Ministry has been assigned to coordinate sending financial assistance and medical teams to the Philippines.
