Five nabbed for 'financing militants'

Security officers have arrested five people for allegedly financing the southern unrest. 

The suspects, including former police and former defence volunteers, were caught between Monday and Wednesday, Col Jatuporn Klampasut, a senior intelligence officer of the 4th Region Forward Command of the Internal Security Operations Command said yesterday.

The suspects, whose names have been withheld, were gang members involved in illicit drugs, firearms smuggling and transnational criminal and alien worker smuggling, he said.
