- +

The Election Commission will send a letter to caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra inviting her to meet for talks over a new date for voting in the 28 vacant southern constituencies, EC secretary-general Puchong Nutrawong said Sunday.

Mr Puchong said the decision was made at an EC meeting which resolved to propose the government issue a royal decree on a new polling date.

He said the EC's letter would be handed over to the government not later than Tuesday.
