KUALA LUMPUR - A team of Malaysian maritime personnel on Monday took samples of a large oil slick spotted in the sea off the northern state of Kelantan, to determine whether it was from the Malaysia Airlines passenger jet that went missing over the weekend.
"The large oil slick was spotted off the town of Tok Bali in Kelantan,” a maritime official said. “We have a team there to take samples of the oil slick to see if it comes from [flight] MH370."
The laboratory procedure might take two days to determine if the oil slick is from the missing plane or from a passing ship, he added.
